Amgen Inc. (AMGN) reported first quarter adjusted EPS of $1.96 after the bell Tuesday, up from $1.61 in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.84. Revenues grew 5 percent to $4.24 billion from $4.05 billion last year. The consensus revenue estimate was $4.37 billion
Full year 2013 adjusted EPS is expected to be above the midpoint of the guidance range of $7.05 to $7.35 per share. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $7.21.
Amgen gapped open sharply lower Wednesday and is now down 6.93 at $105.83. The stock pulled back from the highs of the year yesterday and has set a 2-week low.
