KLA-Tencor Corp. (KLAC) reported that its third-quarter net income was $166 million or $0.98 per share, down from $205.80 million or $1.21 per share in the same quarter last year.
However, non-GAAP net income for the quarter was $171 million or $1.01 per share, compared to $216 million or $1.27 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.86 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter rose to $729 million from $841 million in the prior year quarter. Twelve analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $726.82 million for the quarter.
