Cincinnati Financial Corp. (CINF) Thursday reported first-quarter profit of $154million or $0.94 per share, up from $86 million or $0.53 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Operating income totaled $128 million or $0.78 per share. On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.66 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues totaled $1.10 billion, up 12 percent from $986 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.07 billion.
Combined ratio for the quarter was 91.2 percent, compared to 99.1 percent last year.
