Pre-market Movers For April 26 (JCP, AMZN, BIDU, DHI, AVNR, GT, SYNA, LOGM)


DR Horton Inc. (DHI) is gaining 6 percent to $25.97. The company's second quarter profit more than doubled from the prior year period and topped Wall Street view. Homebuilding revenue for the quarter rose 49 percent from the year-ago quarter.

J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (JCP) is rising over 7 percent to $16.40 after the disclosure that billionaire investor George Soros has acquired a 7.9 percent stake in the department store chain. Soros disclosed that he owns 17.4 million shares of J. C. Penney.

Avanir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AVNR) is gaining 15 percent to $3.69 following the news that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use of the European Medicines Agency has adopted a positive opinion for NUEDEXTA, recommending NUEDEXTA be approved to treat pseudobulbar affect irrespective of neurologic cause.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (GT) is up 2 percent to $13.25. The company swung to a profit in its first quarter. Sales for the quarter declined and also missed the consensus estimate. Meanwhile, the company said it remains confident in its full-year outlook.

Synaptics Inc. (SYNA) is surging 18 percent to $45.71 and LogMein, Inc.(LOGM) is soaring 20 percent to $21.50 following the release of their quarterly results.


Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) is down 2 percent to $269.00 following the release of its quarterly results. The company's first quarter profit fell 37 percent from the prior year period, but topped Wall Street view. Net sales for the quarter rose 22 percent, but missed the consensus estimate.

Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) is down 8 percent to $84.50 as its first quarter earnings were below Walls Street view.
