Confidence among Turkish consumers improved in April, a report from the Turkish Statistical Institute revealed Monday.

The consumer confidence index advanced to 75.6 in April from 74.9 in March. A year earlier, the index was at 75.7.

Consumers' expectations of the general economy improved during the month and they were also upbeat about their own financial situation one-year ahead.

The survey found that there was a decrease in the proportion of people expecting an increase in the number of unemployed persons in the next twelve months. Nonetheless, probability of savings has decreased, according to the report.
