Sohu.com Inc. (SOHU) reported that its first-quarter net income attributable to the company increased to $24.43 million from $23.11 million in the prior year quarter. Income per share was $0.60, up from $0.53 last year.
Non-GAAP net income attributable to the company for the first quarter of 2013 was $24 million, or $0.62 share.
Before deducting the share of net income pertaining to the Non-controlling Interest, GAAP net income for the first quarter of 2013 was $58 million, up 42% year-over-year and 14% quarter-over-quarter. Non-GAAP net income for the first quarter of 2013 was $59 million, up 32% year-over-year and 4% quarter-over-quarter.
Total revenues for the first quarter of 2013 were $308 million, up 36% year-over-year. Total online advertising revenues, which include revenues from brand advertising and search and others businesses for the first quarter of 2013, were $116 million, up 41% year-over-year and down 4% quarter-over-quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.45 per share on revenues of $296.97 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For the second quarter of 2013, the company expects before deducting the share of non-GAAP net income pertaining to the Non-Controlling interest, non-GAAP net income to be between $53 million and $56 million. Non-GAAP net income attributable to the company is expected to be between $19 million and $21 million, and non-GAAP earnings per share to be between $0.50 and $0.55.
Total revenues for the second-quarter are expected to be between $333 million and $342 million.
Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $0.61 per share on revenues of $318.78 million for the second-quarter.
