Iceland Inflation Weakens For Second Month

Iceland's annual inflation decelerated for the second successive month in April, data released by Statistics Iceland showed Monday.

Inflation as per the consumer price index eased to 3.3 percent in April from 3.9 percent in March. In February, the inflation rate was 4.8 percent. Consumer prices, excluding housing costs, increased 3.5 percent annually in April.

Prices of domestic goods and vegetables advanced 5.5 percent from a year earlier, and prices of groceries rose 5.4 percent. At the same time, there was a 0.8 percent increase in costs of imported goods.

The consumer price index moved up 0.2 percent compared to March, when it recorded a similar monthly growth, data showed.
