Pre-market Movers For April 29 (CPTS, SINA, BBRY, SOHU, WRLS)

Gainers:

Conceptus, Inc. (CPTS) is gaining nearly 20 percent to $31.01. Bayer HealthCare LLC, a unit of German conglomerate Bayer AG (BYR.L, BAYRY.PK, BAYZF.PK), has agreed to buy the developer of the non-surgical permanent birth control method, Essure procedure, for about approximately $1.1 billion. Bayer will launch a public tender offer for $31 per share in cash within the next ten business days.

SINA Corp. (SINA) is rising 20 percent to $60.39 following the news that Alibaba Group has invested $586 million to purchase preferred and ordinary shares representing approximately 18 percent of Weibo on a fully-diluted basis. SINA has also granted an option to Alibaba to increase its ownership in Weibo to 30 percent.

BlackBerry (BBRY) is gaining more than 3 percent to $15.50.

Sohu.com Inc. (SOHU) is up over 1 percent to $51.50 following the announcement that its first quarter earnings and revenues improved from the previous year period.

Trading halt:

Trading in shares of Telular Corp. (WRLS) was halted.
