CapitalSource Inc. (CSE) Monday reported first-quarter net income of $29 million or $0.14 per share, compared to $25 million or $0.10 per share in the prior-year quarter.
On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.14 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net-interest income for the quarter declined to $94.9 million from $99.2 million in the comparable quarter last year, while total non-interest income rose to $13.2 million from $11.6 million last year.
Provision for loan and lease losses for the first quarter rose to $12.5 million from $11.1 million last year.
