The Rolling Stones played a surprise gig at the Echoplex Nightclub in Los Angeles ahead of the launch of their 50 and Counting tour.
"Welcome to Echo Park, a neighborhood that's always coming up -- and I'm glad you're here to welcome an up-and-coming band," fronter Mick Jagger jested with the crowd of a few hundred people.
The band announced the gig via Twitter over the weekend, offering tickets for $20 apiece. At the show, the group played a 90-minute set which included an appearance from former member Mick Taylor.
Tracks played during the set included "You Got Me Rocking," "Street Fighting Man," "That's How Strong My Love Is," "Miss You" and "Start Me Up." Taylor joined the boys for "Love in Vain" and "Midnight Rambler."
