Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton has dropped off the band's current tour due to a lingering chest infection.

Hamilton has returned home to recover, and he plans to rejoin the band and continue their Global Warming tour when he feels well enough. Aerosmith are currently on a tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Filling in for Hamilton is film/TV composer David Hull, a founding member of Dirty Angels and a collaborator with Joe Perry in the Joe Perry Project.

He was flown in from the U.S. at short notice to replace Hamilton. Hull previously filled-in for Hamilton back in 2006 during the Route of All Evil tour, when the bassist was recovering from throat cancer, and again during the band's 2009 co-headlining tour with ZZ Top.
