Adjusted net income for the quarter $0.21 per share compared to $0.28 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.18 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Operating revenues for the quarter dropped to $1.69 billion from $1.82 billion last year.
