Volkswagen of America Inc., a unit of Volkswagen AG (VOW.BE,VLKAF.PK,VKW.L) Wednesday reported selling 33,644 vehicles in April, down 10.3 percent from 37,525 vehicles in the same month last year.
Passat Sedan sales for the month declined 10.2 percent to 9,069 units from 10,096 units in the year ago month.
Total Jetta sales, including Jetta Sedan and Sport Wagen, reached 13,078 units, a 16.5 percent drop compared with the prior-year figure of 15,658 units.
The Beetle and Beetle Convertible delivered 1,980 and 1,699 units, respectively, for the month.
Including Golf R and GTI, total sales of the Golf were 2,607 units in April 2013.
