HyundaiMotor America (HYMLF.PK, HYMTF.PK) Wednesday said sales for the month of April improved 2 percent to 63,315 units from 62,264 units last year.
Elantra sales totaled 24,445 units, up 45 percent from 16,836 units last year. Santa Fe had sales of 6,940 units, up 10 percent over last year.
Azera sales jumped 48 percent to 1,409 units from 953 units last year, while Sonata sales decreased to 16,077 units from 20,521 units last year. Hyundai Accent sales totaled 4,730 units, compared to 6,160 units last year.
Genesis and Equus sales dropped to 2,584 units and 261 units respectively from last year, as inventories remained extremely tight due to model year ramp up. The freshened 2014 Equus on its way to Hyundai showrooms later this month.
Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales increased 33 percent to 6,218 units from last year.
