Newcastle Investment Corp., (NCT), a real estate investment and finance company, Friday posted a lower income, reflecting lower revenues and higher expenses.
For the three-month period, the income available for common stockholders was $36.6 million or $0.15 per share, compared with $72.1 million, or $0.68 per share during the same period last year. There has been a fall in the company's net interest income including impairment, while total expenses climbed.
On average, two analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.29 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
The company reported net interest income of $71.36 million compared with $74.89 million during the same period last year.
Analysts estimated the firm to report revenues of $81.42 million.
Further, the company also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.22 per share.
