Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) reported net income for the first quarter of $460 million or $0.91 per share, compared to $2.2 billion o $4.28 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the first quarter was $547 million or $1.08 per share, compared to $475 million or $0.92 per share in the prior year quarter.
Total revenue for the first quarter rose to $3.89 billion from $3.45 billion a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.94 per share on revenue of $3.49 billion for the first quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
