George Jones album sales have taken off in the week after his death, notching a 1000 percent increase. According to Billboard, Jones' catalog sold 3,000 copies in the week before his death and 35,000 in the following week.
His download sales were even more impressive, selling 149,000 last week, up 2,739 percent over the previous week's figure of 5,000. "He Stopped Loving Her Today" was his top-seller, moving 34,000 downloads and making the Country Digital Songs chart at number 15.
His second biggest seller, "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes," sold 11,000 copies.
On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Jones got his highest-charting set ever, as the 1998 release 16 Biggest Hits reached number 42 with 9,000 copies sold in the week. Jones previous high on that chart was number 53 with 1999's Cold Hard Truth.
