Security and systems management solutions provider Symantec Corporation (SYMC), Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income attributable to stockholders of $188 million or $0.26 per share, compared to $559 million or $0.76 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Non-GAAP net income for the latest fourth quarter was $314 million or $0.44 per share, up from $283 million or $0.38 per share in the prior year quarter. On average, twenty nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.38 per share. Analyst expectations typically exclude one-time items.
Total net revenue for the quarter was $1.74 billion, up 4 percent year-over-year from $1.68 billion, while 26 analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $1.73 billion.
Symantec's Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per common share to be paid on June 27, 2013 to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on June 19, 2013. The ex-dividend date will be June 17, 2013.
