Air Lease Corp. (AL: Quote) Thursday said first-quarter profit increased to $40.0 million or $0.38 per share from $26.93 million or $0.26 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $47.77 million. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.38 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $192 million, up 45 percent from $133 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $195.98 million.
