Universal Display Corp. (PANL) Thursday said first-quarter loss widened to $4.8 million or $0.10 per share from $1.2 million or $0.03 per share in the same period last year.

On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.10 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $15.0 million, up 19 percent from $12.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $14.38 million.

Operating expenses increased 56 percent to $22.1 million from $14.2 million last year.

Looking ahead, the company targets full-year revenues in the range of $110 million to $125 million.
