A behavioral specialist for Harford County Public Schools in Maryland has been arrested and charged with beastiality.
The Baltimore News Journal reports that the alleged incident involved sexual intercourse between a dog and Stephanie Mikles, a behavioral specialist for the public school system Harford County. The state of Maryland says that there is no statute of limitations for charges such as these.
The incident was discovered when investigators were looking to a separate incident by the child advocacy center.
The animal involved in the incident reportedly still lives with the family at their home. The school district has placed Mikles on administrative leave without pay while the investigation continues.
An attorney for Mikles has said that she's fighting the charges and hopes to have the case dismissed. The charges against her are punishable of up to 10 years in prison and a $1,000 fine. She is currently freed on a $5,000 bail.
