ABC has reportedly renewed "Nashville," "Scandal" and "Once Upon a Time" for new seasons. The news came as part of a major update from ABC last Friday, who also re-signed "Modern Family," "The Middle" and "Suburgatory."

Widespread speculation had risen amongst some insiders about the fate of "Nashville," which had suffered in ratings over recent months. The show reportedly earned a major bump via DVR viewership, however, and that helped lock the show in for another season.

"Scandal" was less of a surprise after breaking out as a hit for ABC during its first two seasons. Long-running hit Thursday series "Grey's Anatomy" got the go-ahead for its tenth season along with "Castle," which will enjoy a sixth season.

More updates from ABC are expected in coming weeks, according to hitfix.com.
