Kendrick Lamar participated in the Get Schooled Celebrity Principals for the Day program, stopping by Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, Rhode Island to hang with students and encourage them in their studies.
"My teachers were great positive influences in my life. My middle school English teacher was probably the reason I became a rapper. He used to encourage me to write poetry and would challenge me, which helped me improve my vocabulary and made me enjoy writing," K-Dot, who was the first of his family to graduate from high school, told students.
Lamar was joined by 106 & Park co-hosts Shorty da Prince and Paigion, and helped judge a Dougie dance-off competition between students.
Later on, Kendrick hung around for photo-ops with the students at Mount Pleasant.
