Jimi Hendrix reportedly reached out to Paul McCartney about contributing the bass guitar for a proposed recording session with Miles Davis and drummer Tony Williams. The offer was revealed after a telegram sent by Jimi to Paul's office at Apple Records in London recently surfaced.
The telegram was dated October 21, 1969 and it seemed the incredible supergroup planned to connect in a New York recording studio:
"We are recording and (sic) LP together this weekend in NewYork, (sic). How about coming in to play bass stop call Alvan Douglas 212-5812212. Peace Jimi Hendrix Miles Davis Tony Williams," the note reads, according to Billboard.
Hendrix and Davis had been close friends in the years before the guitar god's death, but unfortunately were never able to carry out their recording session due to scheduling conflicts.
