Croatia Retail Sales Decline Further In March

Croatia's retail sales decreased further in March, but at a slower rate than in the previous month, data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Retail sales volume decreased 2.1 percent on an annual basis in March, slower than the 3.2 percent fall seen in February. In January, sales decreased by 6.6 percent.

Trade in food, beverages and tobacco dropped 2.7 percent from a year earlier, and sales of non-food products, excluding automotive fuels, dropped by 0.3 percent.

Month-on-month, trade in the retail sector increased 0.2 percent in March, which was slower than the 0.5 percent rise seen in the previous month, data showed.
