Valspar Corp. (VAL) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.91 Tuesday morning, up from $0.84 a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.90. The company also backed its full year adjusted EPS guidance of $3.60 to $3.80. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $3.68.
Valspar has been climbing since the open of trade Tuesday and is now up 1.49 at $69.35. The stock has been gaining ground for the last month and has broken out to a new high for the year.
