German steel giant ThyssenKrupp AG (TYEKF.PK) said its second-quarter net loss from continuing operations attributable to its stockholders was 89 million euros, as against 164 million euros loss last year. On a per share basis, basic loss amounted to 0.18 euros, compared with a loss of 0.32 euros, a year before.
EBIT from continuing operations was a negative 4 million euros, versus 305 million euros a year ago, with adjusted EBIT down to 241 million euros from 361 million euros. Quarterly Group sales from continuing operations reached 9.10 billion euros, down from 10.19 billion euros in the prior-year period. Order intake for the period declined to 9.67 billion euros, from 11.09 billion euros last year.
Looking ahead, the Group said it expects sales in the second half to come in higher than in the first half, but full-year sales will be down year-on-year.
