Vampire Weekend took the stage on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday where they played two new songs—"Ya Hey" and "Everlasting Arms"—from their new album, Modern Vampires of the City.
On the first track the band was backed by a string section, for a "lovely, lilting version" of the song, according to Stereogum, while on the second track—available as a web-extra only—the boys sped things up.
The performance on Fallon followed their weekend gig on Saturday Night Live. For that performance, the boys played another two new tracks from Modern Vampires--"Diane Young" and "Unbelievers."
According to Death and Taxes magazine, the new album is "at turns more morose, electronic, and at times infused with more classic Americana than their previously Paul Simon-inspired ebullient sound."
Modern Vampires of the City is in stores now.
