Hunter Hayes might not be the dream prom date that many young ladies imagine him to be, the 22-year-old singer said in response to the many invitations he has been receiving this prom season.
"I wish I could actually attend one, because I think it would be fun, but I would probably be the most incredibly boring date to a prom," Hayes tells Albright & O'Malley & Brenner.
Hayes even received an invite from American Idol alum Lauren Alaina, which he declined.
"I got to be honest," he continued. "I'm a terrible dancer and terribly shy naturally anyway . . . Whoever would take me to prom would actually regret it greatly."
When asked about his own prom on radio station 100.7 the Wolf, the "Storm Warning" singer explained, "I never went to homecoming or prom or anything. Every time something like that came up I was either at a gig or at home working in the studio. My geek world kind of took over, so I never made it out to one of those."
