Nine Inch Nails will have to find another bassist for their upcoming world tour. Bass player Eric Avery has decided not to hit the road with Trent Reznor's reformed group. Avery, who was a founding member of Jane's Addiction, announced the news in a Facebook post.

"It's with very mixed emotions I tell you all that I'm pulling out of NIN," Avery wrote on Wednesday afternoon, May 15. "I know. It's been a tough call and I don't know if it's the right one."

"As the tour dates kept growing . . . I just got overwhelmed," Avery explains. "I just got home from a year of heavy travel with Garbage, the idea of leaving town for another year and a half, and with all the intensity that nails demands . . . fortunately my friend Trent Reznor understands all this and appreciated my pulling the plug now instead of deep into 2013 and 14."

Avery ended his message simply by saying, "Go get 'em gentleman." There's been no word on who will replace Avery on the upcoming tour.
