Data storage company Brocade Communications Systems Inc. (BRCD) reported a second-quarter GAAP net income of $47 million or $0.10, compared to $39 million or $0.08 per share in the year ago quarter.
Non-GAAP net income for the quarter rose to $78 million from $72 million in the year ago quarter. On a non-GAAP basis, earnings per share was $0.17, up from $0.15 in the second quarter 2012. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.15 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total net revenues for the latest second quarter were $538.78 million, compared with $543.44 million in the comparable quarter last year, while seventeen analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $544.24 million for the quarter.
