The Board of Directors of Polycom, Inc. (PLCM) Thursday named Kevin Parker as its Chairman, effective immediately. Parker replaces David DeWalt who has resigned to avoid any potential auditor independence conflict relating to Polycom's independent registered public accounting firm.
Parker previously served as an independent Director of Polycom's Board of Directors and Chairman of the audit committee. Prior to that, Parker was Chairman, President and CEO of Deltek, Inc.
The Board has also elected Scott Mercer as Chair of Polycom's Audit Committee replacing Parker. Mercer is an audit committee financial expert and has served as an independent Director of Polycom and as a member of the Audit Committee.
He has also served as Chairman and CEO of Conexant Systems, Inc. and CFO of Western Digital Corp. and Teralogic, Inc.
