Opponents of gun control say they'll go to court to kill Maryland's new weapons legislation.
Governor Martin O'Malley on Thursday signed the measure into law, giving Maryland some of the most strict gun laws in the country. Forty-five types of assault weapons are banned and ammo magazines are limited to 10 bullets.
In addition, anyone wanting a license to buy a handgun will be required to submit fingerprints to state police.
The National Rifle Association is not happy about this, and says it will sue to overturn the law on Constitutional grounds.
In addition, some of the state's residents have vowed to start a petition drive to keep the new legislation from taking effect.
