Following a two-day trial in a federal court, two men from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania have been convicted of trafficking cocaine.
Local newspaper, The Sentinel, reports that Dawan Maynard, 41, and Michael Morris, 46, were both found guilty last week on charges of conspiracy and distribution of cocaine and crack cocaine.
In October 2012, following a three-year joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Dauphin County Drug Task Force, Maynard, Morris and Corry Matthews were arrested in connection with the trafficking charges. Matthews pleaded guilty in January and is awaiting his sentence.
The defendants were part of a violent drug trafficking business between 2009 and 2012 in Dauphin County, where they distributed and possessed 500 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine. The three reportedly used threats of violence and intimidation to obtain cocaine from other drug traffickers in the area.
A sentencing date has not yet been set for Maynard and Morris.
