Motherson Sumi Q4 Stand-Alone Profit Rises By 8%

The Delhi-based Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd. posted fourth-quarter stand-alone net profit of Rs.179.18 crore or Rs.3.05 per share, compared with Rs.165.23 crore or Rs.2.78 per share in the corresponding quarter last year. Net profit and earnings per shares grew by eight and ten percent respectively.

Its quarterly income from operations grew by one percent to Rs.1,208.21 crore from the Rs.1,192.91 crore in the year-ago quarter, while other income was Rs.23.86 crore, compared with Rs.18.12 crore for the same period last year.

For the fiscal year, the company posted stand-alone net profit of Rs.469.62 crore, higher by 48 percent than the Rs.317.17 crore last year. Net income from operations amounted to Rs.4,241.34 crore, up by 20 percent from the Rs.3,528.90 crore in 2012, while other operating income was Rs.80.36 crore, compared with Rs.58.56 crore a year-ago.

Consolidated Results

For the fourth-quarter, its consolidated net profit stood at Rs.195.80 crore, flat from last year's Rs.194.83 crore in Q4FY12. Net income from operations totaled Rs.6,599.61 crore, higher by four percent than the Rs.6,368.22 crore in Q4FY12, while other operating income was Rs.76.23 crore, compared with Rs.57.01 crore in the year-ago quarter.

For the fiscal year, its consolidated net profit rose by 71 percent to Rs.444.54 crore, up by percent from the Rs.259.64 crore in 2012. Net income from operations totaled Rs.25,225.30 crore, higher by 72 percent than the Rs.14,702.23 crore in FY12, while other operating income was Rs.391.66 crore, compared with Rs.205.35 crore a year-ago.

The company's board recommended a dividend of 200 percent or Rs.2.00 per equity share of Rs.1 each for the fiscal year 2013.

At the BSE, Motherson Sumi Systems shares are currently trading at Rs.213.65, up 0.23 percent from the previous close.
