Kai, the homeless "hatchet hitchhiker," who shot into brief prominence after a bizarre television interview went viral, has been arrested on a murder charge, according to Philly.com.
Authorities say that Kai (real name: Caleb McGillvary) killed 73-year-old lawyer Joseph Galfy, a man with whom he'd been seen around New York. The BBC writes that an autopsy on Galfy determined that he had been killed by a blunt force trauma.
Police believe that McGillvary and Galfy had a sexual encounter, citing an odd post on the former's Facebook page the day after Galfy's body was discovered:
Authorities told NBC New York that he will be processed in Philadelphia and returned to New Jersey in the coming days.
