Siaosi Sila, of Anchorage, Alaska, attempted to thwart the attempt of police to serve him a warrant by running on to a semi-frozen lake and sitting in the middle of it. Authorities, according to Alaska Dispatch, had to wait him out as the ice was not stable.

"Basically, he's parked out there on the ice," Police spokesperson Dani Myren told local news source KTUU, which was on the scene during the showdown. "The salient issue is that he doesn't want to go back to jail."

The warrant was being served for failure to comply with the conditions of probation, a charge that Sila was apparently unwilling to accept; instead, dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, he chilled on the ice for about 20 minutes before tiptoeing ashore and surrendering.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.
