Police in Ontario, Canada arrested a man this week who was driving 143 km/hour on a local road in the Chatham-Kent area. John Corriveau, 52, was charged with one count of stunt driving a told police he was attempting to dry out the inside of his car, according to CTV.
Ian Chappell, a traffic and marine inspector for the Catham-Kent branch of the Ontario Provincial Police, spoke with CTV, saying they take such traffic crimes very seriously:
"It's these types of preventable actions that cause injury and death on our roadways," he said.
Corriveau was arrested on Wednesday morning and his license has been suspended for at least one week. If convicted, he could face the maximum stunt driving find of $2,000.
