Authorities in Atlanta, Georgia have arrested a woman who allegedly murdered her father and then stayed in the house for a week, while the body started to rot.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Andrea Blanton, 45, was arrested and charged with concealing the death of her father, James Reece, 77, after authorities were led to the house to perform a welfare check on Tuesday.
"Blanton had been staying in the home with her father's body and despite the advanced stages of decomposition ... failed to report the death," said Ball Ground Police Lt. Jay Baker. According to the Cherokee Tribune.
Blanton was released later that night on a bond of $11,200, but was arrested again on Wednesday when an autopsy on Reece's corpse showed that he had been strangled to death.
Blanton is currently being held without bail at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without bond and is being charged with murder and concealing a death.
