A Yemeni intelligence officer was shot dead by suspected Al-Qaeda gunmen in the city of Mukalla in Hadramawt Province, reports said Saturday citing security sources.
The incident took place late Friday, when gunmen shot Colonel Abdullah al-Rabaki and fled on a motorbike.
Recently, militants linked to Al-Qaeda had circulated leaflets in the region which carried threats to kill Rabaki.
