Continuous heavy rain and flooding across Southern China killed more than 50 people and left 14 missing since Tuesday.
Among several provinces battered by storms, Guangdong was the hardest hit. About 36 people were killed in this province alone. A new round of rainfall is expected to hit most parts of Guangdong later Saturday.
The local authorities reported that storms affected about 900,000 people and destroyed 2,675 houses. The Ministry of Civil Affairs has sent teams of relief workers to the hardest hit areas.
