The European currency climbed against the U.S. dollar and the British pound in early European deals on Monday.
The euro approached a 4-day high of 0.8462 against the pound, up from Friday's close of 0.8460.
The single currency edged up to 1.2865 against the greenback, after having fallen to a multi-week low of 1.2796 on Friday.
