A police officer from Phoenix, Arizona was killed after being hit by a vehicle while conducting a DUI stop.
The Arizona Republic reports that Police Officer Daryl Raetz, 29, who had been with the department for the last six years, was standing in the road and dealing with a driver, whom he suspected of a DUI, when he was hit by an SUV that was driving by.
Phoenix police said that they had found the vehicle, however, had not yet located the vehicle's owner.
Raetz was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. He is survived by his wife and child.
