Christopher Nolan, who directed the most recent "Batman" trilogy, is in talks to helm the next "Bond" flick. The director, reports the Daily Mail, is currently in talks with "Bond" producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

"It does no harm for Broccoli and Wilson to talk with Nolan, even if nothing happens this time round," the source told the Mail, noting that the producers have not pegged Nolan for the follow-up to "Skyfall," but for the next iteration of the franchise.

Sam Mendes, who directed "Skyfall," an enormous success, decided to opt out of future "Bond" films.

Currently, Nolan is in pre-production on the sci-fi thriller, "Interstellar," which will reportedly star Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine. "Interstellar" is tentatively due in theaters in November 2014.
