Authorities in New York have arrested three men on drug trafficking charges after investigators followed a drug trail from a hand-off in the Bronx in April to a house that had the drugs in Queens.

The New York Post reports that inside the house in Queens, authorities found approximately 20 pounds of heroin and crystal meth with an estimated street value of $2 million.

"This seizure is typical of a pattern that we've seen developing in our narcotics investigations across the city," said State Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan. "Methamphetamine is a homegrown product for Mexican cartels. Clearly they are trying to promote the use and addiction to crystal meth here in New York City. The city Health Department data reflects a dangerous escalation in related hospitalizations."

The meth is believed to have come from labs in Mexico. All three men are facing charges multiple charges of drug and weapon possession and conspiracy.
