NY Man Caught Making Meth With Active Lab

A New York man was arrested after police found him allegedly making meth on state forest land over the weekend.

Police responded to a drug raid in a town northwest of the city of Cortland when they observed Joshua W. Pittsley, 31, in the middle of making methamphetamine. According to 9WSYR.com reports, deputies say he was making meth and had an active lab going.

Pittsley had nearly 10 ounces of meth which is about 2 ounces over the limit for the criminal possession of a controlled substance charge, CNYCentral.com reports.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team was called into assist with the contamination from the math making process. The Environmental Protection Service was also called in to aid the situation.

The 31-year-old man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
