Three men suspected of perpetrating a Bank of America robbery in Los Angeles with a fake bomb have been arrested by the FBI, according to local news source KTLA. The plot involved the girlfriend of one of the robbers, who wore a false explosive device.

Ray Vega walked into the bank, pretending to hold his girlfriend hostage. Her name has been withheld, but police say she worked at the branch. She informed her coworkers of the situation and they collected the money and placed it outside the back doors.

The two other men accused in the plot — Richard Menchaca and Bryan Perez — picked up the money and met at a hotel room with Vega where the money was split up, say authorities.

According to ABC News, each of the three men face 25 years in prison if convicted.
