Responding to the tornado that hit the Oklahoma City area Monday, AT&T Inc. (T) Tuesday recommended text messaging for communications with family, friends and loved ones due to heavy call volumes.
The company said it is coordinating with local authorities and bringing in additional resources. It is also waiving voice, data and text overage charges through June 30 for customers in the affected areas.
