Beck has announced that he will perform his most recent album, Song Reader, for the first time live at London's Barbican on July 4. The new material was released as sheet music only, so it'll be the first time the public hears the album as Beck conceived it.
He won't be alone at the Barbican, as he's recruited a host of talent to help perform Song Reader, including Beth Orton, Franz Ferdinand, Jarvis Cocker, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joan Wasser, Villagers' Conor J. O'Brien, the Staves, Guillemots, Michael Kiwanuka and James Yorkston and the Pictish Trail. More acts are expected to be announced soon.
Beck previously announced a short summer tour, which will hit five dates:
7/2 Paris, France - Days Off Festival at Cité de la Musique
7/27 Wantagh, NY - Americanarama at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater
7/28 Newport, RI - Newport Folk Festival
8/2 Boston, MA - Bank of America Pavilion
8/4 Brooklyn, NY - Celebrate Brooklyn at Prospect Park
