Confidence among Dutch consumers improved for a third consecutive month in May, a report from Statistics Netherlands showed Wednesday.

The consumer confidence index rose by 3 points from a month earlier to -32 in May, in line with expectations. The mood improved for a third successive month after the confidence indicator had reached the lowest level ever recorded in February, the statistical office said.

Dutch consumers were less pessimistic about the economic climate and was also less negative about future economic conditions. However, their willingness-to-buy remained at a very low level.
